4 apples
1 table spoon cinnamon
3 table spoons sugar
4 table spoons poppy seeds
240g plain flour
1 table spoon baking powder
1 tea spoon salt
150g soft butter
230g cane sugar
3 table spoons lemon juice
1 table spoon vanilla sugar
3 eggs
Preheat oven to 170°C.
Butter a round cake tin (24cm diameter) and coat lightly with flour.
Peel apples, remove cores and cut into 1cm dices. Mix with cinnamon, sugar and poppy seeds.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl and set aside.
Melt butter and mix with cane sugar, lemon juice, vanilla sugar and eggs. Add to the flour and mix well.
Pour half of the cake dough into the tin. Place half of the apples on it. Pour the other half of the cake dough and place the other half of the apples on top.
Bake cake 70 minutes.
