Dough:
175g soft butter
175g cane sugar
50g walnuts, chopped
300g plain flour
½ tea spoon cinnamon
2 table spoons water
½ tea spoon baking powder
Topping:
500g sweetened condensed milk
100g honey
100g butter
½ tea spoon salt
85g walnuts in halves
fleur de sel
Preheat oven to 180°C (upper and lower heat).
Dough: Beat butter and cane sugar untill fluffy. Add walnuts, flour, cinnamon and water and knead into a dough.
Mix 200g of the dough with baking powder. Wrap into cling film and put in the fridge.
Place leftover dough into a baking tin lined with baking paper and press flat by hand. Bake 25 minutes.
Topping: In a pan bring condensed milk, honey and butter and cook while stirring until it starts to caramelize. Add Salt. Pour topping over the pre-baked dough.
Break off pieces from leftover dough and sprinkle over the topping. Sprinkle with walnuts.
Bake 20-25 minutes.
Take out of the oven and sprinkle with fleur de sel.
